The Well of Eternity

Dreams
A round well of uncertainty the shades of man circle
Graceless in form
deep inspection
Down the well
Deep below surface
From a perch on high
Shreds the final judgment
Guide lines posts
Verdict
For a life

For the precious, a pillar
Grasping blue light
Blue acceptance
Calm
Like the eyes of man
Beaming down from cloudless sky
Engaging soul
Releasing pain
All loving
All caring
All consuming
Pulsing warmth
Like wishful ocean tides
Where memories lay bear
And only love
Remains

Or darkness
Darkness beyond black
Within the hands of evils born
Transgression
Hate
Jealousy
Worn loudly outside
Born terminally within
Ripping
Tearing
Shearing
Tongue from mouth
Skin from muscle
Bone from frame
Only to reform
And suffer

Always
Forever
And ever
Amen

Which band of brothers?
Which source?

Here, by the well,
Choose
Finality
Unaware of the circumstances
Unaware of eternity come
Time in
Time out
The choice remains

Sitting stagnant
Stale

Against the Well

Pondering,

How have I lived?

Dining With the Devil

Dining at the table of Beelzebub,
                I wonder,
                                wistfully,
if this steak is undercooked
                or
if my tastes have simply shifted
                from raw
                                to well-done.
“Never mind the meat my dear friend,
                                have a glass of wine
and wonder no more.”
So do I do and notice the
                lovely bouquet of flavors
                emanating from my glass.
“Of course, my dear friend!
                This is my own personal
                recipe. Drink and be merry!”
Glass after glass I consume, end upon end;
over
                and over again. Until
colorsmeld and sounds echooo.

The party goes dim
the guests disappear
and
my Host
                and I
                                are alone;
                at last.

Difficulty Breathing

one night,
a taste of detachment,
pure objectivity.
Not for love,
for sanity.
one night.
Let’s leave our woes behind.
Let's revel in the glory of Jupiter,
Venus.
Polaris.
Star-filled skies
Salt-soaked seas.
Let’s speak without words,
distractions.
Let’s live this night, just this one,
with every breath.
Just one night.
Don't believe the dawn.
Don't believe Apollo.
Let's live, for just one night,
before our lungs contract and
Poseidon’s step-children take our breath away.

Late Nights

We dare to see the sun rise.
High on life and everything else.
Warmth seeps into our bodies.
Reminding us,

together
we
are
Alive.

Parachute Down Like a Lifeline

Sweat
Spit
Grab
Grip
Push
Pull

Slap moan
cum go

After a night like this, who needs therapy? I’ve spent more time learning what makes you tick than any asshole should be allowed.
                                                Round 2?
After a drink, but I’m not staying unless you have some dark, dirty secret to let me in on and even if that’s the case…it better be good.
(I’m sick of rainbows and butterflies, pull the ripcord and let the monster out.
I’m fucked up mentally and need to know that you hurt the way I do when
                                          it’s all over.)

Born of Air, We Turn to Dust as Life Encroaches

You and I are only wisps of dust
Held together by threads of belief and desire.
The wind blows and we shift.
We face the sun and turn away.

Upon the path we find He that devours all
                “Open your mouth shriveled child,
The clouds carry rains of dark filtered
                Light.
If you cannot see, open your eyes.”

Spread your arms and embrace a Chance.

“I am your Savior, You are my Lamb.
Pray not for forgiveness but for joy.
You need not fear that which you
                Cannot see.
                I promise you vision.”

We are dust
Covering the ruins of mankind
                “Come to me.”

Higher Education

Upward and onward-through the haze,
the malaise,
chill
while I feast,
upon words,
thoughts, dreams and loss,
numbers, letters,
sex and drugs,
life.
Sit
and
take it in,
one day at-a
dot dot dot
Time.
It’s Mine.
Yours,
everyone’s.
You can’t lose it,
waste it,
or betray it.
It’s all around.
Beautiful discontent
Beautiful disconnect
so happy to repeat.
Dishing about
news from a thousand
years ago.
So let’s go,
into the world
out to sea
to see
what we can do
with our
dot dot dot
Higher
Education
