The Well of Eternity

Dreams
A round well of uncertainty the shades of man circle
Graceless in form
deep inspection
Down the well
Deep below surface
From a perch on high
Shreds the final judgment
Guide lines posts
Verdict
For a life

For the precious, a pillar
Grasping blue light
Blue acceptance
Calm
Like the eyes of man
Beaming down from cloudless sky
Engaging soul
Releasing pain
All loving
All caring
All consuming
Pulsing warmth
Like wishful ocean tides
Where memories lay bear
And only love
Remains

Or darkness
Darkness beyond black
Within the hands of evils born
Transgression
Hate
Jealousy
Worn loudly outside
Born terminally within
Ripping
Tearing
Shearing
Tongue from mouth
Skin from muscle
Bone from frame
Only to reform
And suffer

Always
Forever
And ever
Amen

Which band of brothers?
Which source?

Here, by the well,
Choose
Finality
Unaware of the circumstances
Unaware of eternity come
Time in
Time out
The choice remains

Sitting stagnant
Stale

Against the Well

Pondering,

How have I lived?

Dining With the Devil

Dining at the table of Beelzebub,
                I wonder,
                                wistfully,
if this steak is undercooked
                or
if my tastes have simply shifted
                from raw
                                to well-done.
“Never mind the meat my dear friend,
                                have a glass of wine
and wonder no more.”
So do I do and notice the
                lovely bouquet of flavors
                emanating from my glass.
“Of course, my dear friend!
                This is my own personal
                recipe. Drink and be merry!”
Glass after glass I consume, end upon end;
over
                and over again. Until
colorsmeld and sounds echooo.

The party goes dim
the guests disappear
and
my Host
                and I
                                are alone;
                at last.

Difficulty Breathing

one night,
a taste of detachment,
pure objectivity.
Not for love,
for sanity.
one night.
Let’s leave our woes behind.
Let's revel in the glory of Jupiter,
Venus.
Polaris.
Star-filled skies
Salt-soaked seas.
Let’s speak without words,
distractions.
Let’s live this night, just this one,
with every breath.
Just one night.
Don't believe the dawn.
Don't believe Apollo.
Let's live, for just one night,
before our lungs contract and
Poseidon’s step-children take our breath away.
